Magelang, 24 April 2024 –  PT Napindo Media Ashatama as the organiser of Indo Defence 2024 Expo has reached a significant milestone with the commencement of the selection process for its inaugural cohort of students. This step was marked by the administrative selection event held on 24th and 25th April 2024 at Sekolah Taruna Nusantara in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. Building upon the foundation laid during the signing ceremony of The Astronaut Al Worden Endeavour Scholarship at Indo Defence 2024 in February, this selection process underscores a shared commitment to nurturing international cooperation and inspiring the next generation of aerospace leaders and innovators.

Over the course of two days, students and educators participated in a rigorous Assessment Test aimed at identifying the most qualified candidates to represent Indonesia on the  worldwide scale. A total of 28 students and 2 educators were part of this initial selection phase, which assessed criteria such as English proficiency, health status, personality qualities, and showed interest for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

“We are thrilled to witness the enthusiasm and dedication of these exceptional students and educators,” said Arya Seta, Managing Director at PT Napindo. “Our aim is to assemble a cohesive team that not only embodies the best of Indonesian talent but also showcases our nation’s potential on an international platform.”

Looking ahead, the selection process will remain focused on language proficiency, including the administration of the TOEFL test during the next assessment phase. This stage aims to discover individuals who not only thrive academically but also demonstrate the communication skills required for collaboration and success globally.

The 10th edition Indo Defence 2024 Expo & Forum, one of the largest and leading international defence industry exhibitions and forums in the world are all set to mark a significant milestone as it brings together the finest innovations, technologies, and expertise in the realm of defence. Indo Defence is ready to highlight defence advancements on 6 – 9 November 2024 at three (3) venues namely Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran, Jakarta as the main venue. The aircraft static display will be at Halim Perdana Kusuma Air Force Base, while the Pondok Dayung Naval Base will highlight the event’s naval display.
