House Ratifies Bilateral Defense Cooperation Bills With China, Germany

Jakarta. Indonesia's House of Representatives ratified two draft bills on bilateral defense cooperation with China and Germany during a plenary meeting on Tuesday (01/03).

As reported by Antara news agency, some 322 lawmakers agreed to ratify the bills, aiming to maintain positive defense ties with the two countries.

“In the process of preparing the draft bills, Commission I held hearings to gather comments and input. We finished first-level discussions with the government on Feb. 10 to approve the memorandum of understanding and defense cooperation,” said Asril Tanjung, deputy chairman of the House's Commission I, which oversees defense and security affairs.
